Despite growing gradually, the percentage witnessed a steady decline to about 34%. After that, there was a marginal decrease finishing at 30%. Regarding the Festival, it stood at 30% at the beginning of the period, then it was followed by slight decline to just over 25% in 1995. In 2000, the percentage recovered where it remained stable at over 30% until 2010.
By contrast, the Art Gallery and the Pier became less popular attractions. The Art Gallery began at just over 20% in 1980 and went up rapidly to around 37%. Following this, the percentage experienced a plunge to 20% then remained stable until 2000 before a dramatic fall to 8%. This meant that it was the lowest point of the graph. As regards the Pier, it hovered between 10% and 8% from 1980 to 2000 before significant growth to approximately 20% in 2010.
