The line graoh shows the percentage of tourists to Scotland who visited four different attractions in Ediburgh between 1980 and 2010. The attractions are the aquarium, the castle,the zoon and the festival.
Overall, the castle was the most popular attraction for most of the period, while the aquarium showed a clear declin over time. The festival and zoo changed more gradually.
In 1980, about 30% of tourists visited the castle, which then increased sharply and reached a peak of around 45% in 1995. After that, the figure fell gradually and ended at about 30% in 2010. In contrast, the aquarim started at around 20% in 1980, rose to about 35% in 1985, but then dropped steadily to below 10% by the end of the period.
The percentage of tourists visiting the zoo was lower. It began at approximately 10%, fell slightly in 1990, and then incresed slowly to nearly 20% in 2010. Festival attendance was fairly stabe, starting at around 25% and finising at a similar level after small changes.
In summary, the castle attracted the highest proprtion of visitor, while the aquarium became less popular over time.
