The line graph demonstrates the production of the forest industry, including paper, wood pulp, and sawn-wood in the UK between 1980 and 2000.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is clear that paper and packaging consistently had the largest production, showing a substantial growth, while the smallest figure was wood pulp production; however, sawn-wood production decreased modestly, allowing wood pulp production to surpass it.
In terms of largest production, paper and packaging started at around 240 million tonnes. By 2000, it increased significantly to 350 million tonnes, remaining the highest figure.
In contrast, the production of wood pulp was the smallest, representing only about 160 million tonnes in 1980. This number declined slightly before growing to its initial level at the end of the period. With regard to sawn-wood, it started at 200 million tonnes and declined gradually to approximately 125 million tonnes, simultaneously becoming the lowest figure in 2000.
