The graph illustrates information about international tourist arrivals in some regions around the world in millions from 1990 to 2005. Overall, it is clearly seen that North America always be the highest amount of tourist arrivals among other regions all over the period.
In 1990, the tourist arrivals in North America was about 70 million, increased gradually and peaked at over 90 million in 2000, before decreased to under 90 million five years later. Central and Eastern Europe were the second highest of tourist arrivals, representing above 30 million in 1990. The figure increased significantly until the end of the period, peaked at below 90 million, just slightly under North America. Southeast Asia remained as the third highest amount in arrival of tourists, increased gradually and peaked at below 50 million by 2005.
The lowest among above of these were Sub-Saharan Africa and South America. Both were below 10 million in 10 million in 1990, while Sub-Saharan Africa were slightly below South America. Both increased slowly until the end of period, with Sub-Saharan Africa reached above 20 million and South America became the lowest in amount by only below 20 million.
