The graph illustrates how many people who are using five different type of communications services in the world from 1998 to 2008.
Overall, there was an increase in the number of users in five type of services, with the most dramatic rise was being seen in the figure for cellular phone service. Meanwhile, the figure for fixed broadband and mobile broadband services had the lowest proportion of the period.
The number of cellular phone service users started at around 4%, after which it saw an increase to approximately 18% in 2002, and a final rising to reach a peak of nearly 65% in 2008. Similarly, the figure for internet service was at about 3%, and followed by a growth from 10% to just over 20% in 2004 and 2008 respectively.
About 16% of people who are using landlines sevice, with a subsequent increase to 20% and final drop to around 18%. Meanwhile, the figure for fixed broadband and mobile broadband was at 0% in the first year and remained stable to 2004, and a final increase to approximately 4% in 2008.
