The number of visitors who travelled to the UK kept slowly rising till 1994, and then dramatically increase during the time period of 1994 to 1999. Then theres a huge drop of the amount from 9.5 million to 7.5 million between 1999 and 2004. Later by 2009, it has risen to around 9 million again.
Similar to the individuals who went to spend their vacation in the UK, people who visited for business purposes also show a drastical variation in their count. It kept fluctuating where its minimum is in 1993 which was 4 million, and its peak is in 2008, which is 8 million.
Unlike the digit records of the tourists and business persons, the individuals who travelled to visit their families and pals shows a gradual increase from 1989 to 2004. As it reached its peak of 7 million in 2004, there is a slight downfall to around 6 million by 2009.
Furthermore, it is also noticeable that the trend of the number of people did not change based on the different reasons they visited the UK, as the count of people who flied to enjoy always remain being the highest, those who went to spend their time with the loved ones retain being the lowest and those who went for work stayed in between.
