The line graph illustrates the figure for immigrants to the USA, Canada, and Australia between 1991 and 2001
Overall, it is evident that the number of immigrants in the USA and Canada experienced significant growth during this period, while immigrants to Australia were declining. At the beginning of the period, Australia had the highest figures; however, this number was surpassed by the USA at the end.
Looking at the details, Canada began with low figures, just about 500 immigrants before 1992. Interestingly, there was an upsurge to approximately 2300 people after about 3 years but its number plummeted to just around 1000. The number leveled off and increased by 600 people in 2001. As for the USA, its figure started at around 1000, then the nation witnessed a stable increase and ultimately peaked at 2500.
By contrast, Canada was on a downward trend. Starting at the highest number of about 2700 people, the figure dramatically went down to only 500, which is the lowest compared to the other two countries. From that point, Canada’s immigrants leveled off over the next 5 years.
