The tourists spent over 7500 millions in 1980 but amount of income to the country increased throughout the years until 2010, with three dipped in 1982, 1992 and 2002. In 1996, the numbers of spending peaked at 12000 millions and the second time at 2006, even though the number is a little less than in 1996.
With regards to their reasons for visit, almost half of the people visit the country for a holiday in 1980. 20.7% were for business purpose but less than 20% of the people will visit their friends or relatives or any other purposes. In contrast, almost half of the sector combined are made up of visiting friends or relatives and business in 2010. The number of vacation purpose decreased by 5%, while other reasons for the visit reduced significantly lower.
Overall, the money spent by visitors increased gradually throughout the years, even though it can be seen that there is a number of fluctuation. The common purpose of the visit changed from holiday in 1980 to visiting friends and business in 2010.
