The charts illustrate the amount of money spent by foreigners, and their visiting purposes in the UK over 20 years period, from 1980 to 2010.
According to the line chart, it is evident that the budget coming from foreigners increased drastically from approximately 8,000 millions in 1980 to more than 10,500 millions in 2010, although there were some significant changes happened during this period. These changes were a decline between 1980 and 1985, at about 7,000 millions, an increasing gradually happened in years later, before reaching a peak at 12,000 in 1996, a dramatically drop could be seen in 2002, at 10,000 millions, and a growth in following years to more than 11,000 millions, followed by a silght decrase in 2010, at above 10,500 millions.
In addition, purposes of visitors were investigated in two years, 1980 and 2010, which showed in the pie charts. In both years, the majority percentage belongs to holiday reason, at 44.1% in 1980 and 39.1% in 2010. There were other similar reasons included business, 20.7% in 1980, and 22.8% in 2010, and other reasons, at 16.6% in 1980 and 9.8% in 2010. A significant difference in two years can be seen at visiting friends or relatives which the percentage waa 18.7% in 1980, and 28.2% in 2010.
In conclusion, the budget from foreigners grew significantly from 1980 to 2010, and four main reasons were analysed which showed in the pie charts.
