The line chart compares the average prices of monthly mobile phone contracts provided by four cellular companies in a European nation, namely, Domo, Lex, Sim TX, and Alpha, from January to September 2012, expressed in euros.
Overall, the figures for Domo, Lex, and Alpha witnessed an upward trend; the opposite trend was true for Sim TX. Also, Alpha had the most notable rise, from the lowest to the highest figure.
In January, Domo’s monthly contract cost stood at 15 euros, which was three times higher than Alpha’s 5 euros. In March, Domo rose moderately to 18 euros and reached its peak at 25 euros in July, despite the slight decrease in April. By September, the figure stood at approximately 23 euros. Starting from the lowest point of 5 euros, Alpha increased considerably to 8 in April. After dropping significantly to under 5 euros in June, Alpha experienced a dramatic growth and surpassed Domo, reaching 25 euros in September.
Regarding the other group, the figures for Lex and Sim TX were around 8 euros and 12 euros in January. Although both Lex and Sim TX initially experienced an upward trend, Sim TX surpassed Lex in June, at 14 euros and 13 euros, respectively, before witnessing a dramatic decline to around 4,5 euros.
