The line graph illustrates the cost in the market for watching a film in various formats, whereas pie charts show changes (in per cent) for three main shares between 2005 and 2011.
Overall, all three formats increased in their cost, with cinema tickets having the most expensive price. However, almost all shares witnessed a downward trend, with DVD rental having the largest share throughout the analysed period.
It is clear that cinema tickets started with expenses of 9 Euros in 2005 and grow gradually to 14 euros by the year of 2011. Legal download was in second place in terms of cost, accounting 8 Euros and then it fluctuated, before reaching just above the initial number in 2011. DVD was the cheapest option (6 Euros) in 2005, but it jumped slightly to 8 euros.
Regarding market share, rent a DVD was dominating option, having just under 2/3 of the market, but it declined to 56 % in 2011. Going to the cinema had 30 percentages in 2005, in 2011 it accounted for 18 per cent. In contrast, watching online witnessed a considerable increase, rising from 6% to 26% by the end of period.
