The line graph illustrates the number of books borrowed from libraries in four villages (West Eaton, Ryeslip, Sutton Wood, and Church Mount) between June and September 2014. The pie chart presents the proportion of different book genres borrowed during the same period.
Overall, both West Eaton and Church Mount libraries remained in the lowest number of borrowed books among the libraries albeit experiencing marked growth. In contrast, there was a substantial decline in this figure regarding Ryeslip libraries, thereby suffering the loss of many customers who came to borrow books. Despite great fluctuation throughout the period, Sutton Wood became the village whose libraries had the most borrowed books among villages. In addition, fictional books occupied the largest proportion of the total borrowed books, while self-help books only occupied one tenth of the total books on loan in the survey.
During June 2014, although Ryeslip was the library leader, it dramatically plummeted from 300 reading materials to nearly 150 written books, recording losses equivalent to twice the initial number of books. By contrast, libraries in Church Mount and West Eaton displayed a consistent upward trajectory, commencing with only 50 books and culminating in 150 publications by the end of the surveyed time, September. Despite experiencing strong fluctuation during the period with a trough of 100 books in August, Sutton Wood public libraries surpassed all other libraries and led in terms of book loans with 300 books.
With respect to genres of books, nearly half of the surveyed persons selected fictional books as the dominant genres among other types of books. However, only one tenth of other people borrowed self-help books. The rest of the respondents chose biography and science publications.
