The line graph and the pie chart give information on how many books the four village libraries have lent from June to September in 2014 and the proportion of genres of books, that were borrowed in the same year, respectively. Overall, it is clear that the number of books borrowed from Sutton Wood library witnessed an upward trend, while fiction books made up the largest portion of the borrowed genres.
According to the line graph, in June, the libraries in Ryeslip and Sutton Wood ranked first and second, with the number of books standing at 300 and 250, in that order. After three months, the number of the former’s books declined gradually to slightly below 200, whereas, that of the latter’s books fluctuated and peaked at 300 books by the end of the period. Meanwhile, the remaining libraries, both starting and ending at similar points, saw a rise from 50 books initially to 100 books by the last month.
Regarding the pie chart, 43% of the fiction book genre was borrowed the most. This was followed by biographies; it was 24% less than the former. By contrast, historic and scientific books each constituted 14% of the total, with self-help books was the least favored to be borrowed among all, just one in ten.
