At the beginning of the period, the percentage of cinema visitors aged 14-24 stood at 90%. It then fell to 75% in 1988 before rising to 90% in 1998. Afterwards, the figure declined gradually, ending at 80% in 2008. Meanwhile, the 25-34 age group began at 80%. It subsequently dropped to 60% before recovering to 70% in 1998 and finally finished at 65%.
Meanwhile, the 35-49 group began at 60%. It subsequently fell to 40% in 1988 before recovering to 60% in 1998. By the end of the period, it ended at 50%. In contrast, the 50+ group began at 40%. It then dropped to 20% before increasing steadily to 50% in 2008.
