The line graph presents the percentages of Australian exports with four countries in the period from 1990 to 2012.
In general, from 1990 to 2012, the exports of Australia to China rose dramatically with time while those to Japan decreased substantially. Furthermore, during the same period, exports with India have seen a slight surge while those with the US dropped.
On the one hand, the Australian exports to China saw an upward trend. the exports to China rose to 5 percent in 2000 from 3 percent in 1990. From 2000-2005, exports to China surged to 10 percent. Subsequently, from 2005-2010, exports skyrocketed to 25 percent and ended at 28 percent in 2012. On the other hand, exports to Japan saw a downward trend. Exports started to decrease from 27 percent in 1990 to 18 percent in 2000. Between 2000-2008, the exports leveled out. From 2005 onwards, it further decreased to 17 percent.
To India, exports remain the same at 3 percent from 1990 to 2000. Moreover, we can observe a slight increase to 8 percent up to 2010 and then a decrease to 5 percent in 2012.
Concerning the US, the exports fluctuated between 1990-2012. From 1990-1995, exports decreased from 12 percent to 8 percent. Similarly, between 1995-2000, exports rose to 12 percent again. From 2000-2010, exports declined to their lowest in the period to 5 percent and then rose to 7 percent up to 2012.
