The line graph compares 4 diverse cities of England – London, Edinburg, Manchester and Liverpool in terms of university undergraduaters throughout the span of 2005 and 2019.
Overall, the most dramatic change can be observed in the UK, while the other 3 cities experienced an upward trend with rather lower figures. Another noticeable feature is that despite illustrating margin alterations during many years, Liverpool eventually marked the most signifant rise over the period.
Focusing on London and Manchester, it is evident that both figures increased steadily over the period. The figure for Manchester stood at almost 28,000 at the beginning of the period, while London attracted nearly two times more students than the former, specifically 49, 000 learners. Following years, universities situated in these two cities gained raising attention parallel to each other. In spite of the fact that Manchester skyrocketed gradually in the period of 14 years up to 48,000 , London remained dominant constituting 64, 000 students in the final period.
As for Liverpool and Edinburg, patterns showed changeable movents over the period. However, in 2005, both cities presented almost the same figures, with a difference of 2,000 units, Edinburg decreased modestly untill 2008 before dipping to 5, 000 in 2009. The rest of the period saw a gradual increase in Liverpool, similarly the former city recovered its figure in 2010, following by a consistent growth from 12, 000 to 21,000 between 2010 and 2019. While the opponent revealed the most remarkable surge of 39, 000 students by reaching to roughly 60, 000 at the end.
