Additionally, the land expanded the most along the Marriout Lake and near the sea coast. Furthermore, at the beginning, the population trend fluctuation steadily throughout the period. By the end of the period, the trend rose significantly high.
In 1840, the city of Alexandria recorded only 4 kilometers square and surrounded by the sea coast and Lake Marriout. By 1960, the city had expanded dramatically to the north near Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, the country had growth along side and surrounded the Lake Marriout, recording the total of 100 kilometers square by 1980.
In 1840, the number of inhabitants surged steadily from under 1 millions to 2 millions throughout the time. Moreover, by 1960, the trend increased rapidly to more than 3 millions in 1980.
