The given map depicts the two areas which are suggested for supermarket building in the town of Garlsdon.
It is obvious that town is a mixed one , as there is near equal distrubution of town centre, housing, industry and countryside areas. In terms of proposed spots, S2 is more suitable than S1 for supermarket building, given the location of S2 is more central and near the railway.
The first proposed location,S1 is more remote and is situated in the countryside. Consequently, the main upside of S1 is that it is surrounded by 2 main transport links: The railway and main roads. Also,S1 is close to the nearest town of Hindon.
The second proposed location, S2 is located in the epicentre of town as it is inside the town centre which in turn is inside the industrial and housing zones. Despite the town centre being a no traffic zone, railway runs through the town that passes near the S2 site.
