Band 6: The map below shows how park area was changed between 1980 and present. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The two maps illustrate how much a park will have changed in the future.

Overall, there are several changes in all areas of the park, with the most noticeable being the replacement of 2 flower part for a bush and a playground. Moreover, the trees area will be reduced in size for other facilities.

At present, the park have 2 entrances, which are located at the bottom and on the left hand side of the map, are connected by a L-shaped road. Along the path, there are the small flower garden, 2 benches, a pond and 1 bench from the bottom to the top in that order on the left side. In addition, on the right side of the path, the large flower garden is situated in the bottom corner. Meanwhile, the tree area occupied the upper corner.

In the future layout, the entrances will be demolished and the road will be expanded into a intersection. The small flower section in the future will be replaced by a bush and the other one will be converted into a playground for children. The only feature left intact will be the pond while a new bench will be added around it. On the top right-hand corner, the tree section will be scaled down to make space for the emergence of additional facilities like chairs, desks and a barbecue.
