The two maps show the transformations of Grandtown between 1995 and now. Overall, the town has undergone notable changes, becoming more residential and visitor-friendly with the introduction of a golf area and tennis courts, which came at the cost of a greener environment. While the town has retained some of its original facilities, others have been removed.
In 1995, the town was relatively leafier compared to now. There were traditional houses from the northeast. A large farmland occupied the west side, below which was a forest park. Two roads intersected in the middle of the town, one running from northwest to southeast and the other from east to west. At their intersection stood a hotel, with a cafe below. Next, there were shops and a fishing port in the south, between which was a line of fish markets.
At the present, while houses have increased in number, a golf area and two tennis courts have replaced the farmland and forest park. Moreover, the hotel and café have remained intact, whereas a new car park has been introduced adjacent to the hotel. The old shops and fish markets have gone, and in their place now are restaurants and apartments. The last alteration includes the disappearance of the fishing port.
