Overall, it is clear that Willington town became more residential and accessible with the increase in population, the addition of new roads and shops, and the construction of recreational and educational facilities.
In 1780, there were 100 homes in the town, doubling in 1860 before ending at 500 in 2000. Along, the farmland was gradually removed in place of the construction of sports fields and educational institutions.
A further development was the establishment of two new roads in 2000, allowing residents to travel to the river and commune to schools or sports fields. A bridge was also built in 1860 to link the town with other areas. There were many shops emerging along the riverside on the way leading to a newly-built wetland for birds. It is interesting that only the river remained unchanged over the period.
