The maps illustrate how an area changed after the construction of hydroelectric power dam from 1980 to 2000. Overall, the area experienced a dramatic transformation, turning from a natural and agricultural place with some ancient structures into a modernized area with additional fishing and residential facilities. Notably, the area became less green and historical buildings were completely removed.
In 1980, the area was relatively simple, with river running from north to south separating it into two parts. There used to be ancient structures surrounded by a forest in the northwest, while rare animals and plant could be found in the central-west part of the area. The east, the other side of the river, was largely occupied by irrigated farmlands, and a small village was located adjacent to them. The area had also mountains on both sides of the river.
Following the construction of the hydroelectric power dam in the center in 2000, the area underwent substantial development. The construction led to the expansion of the river, along with the creation of a lake. The historical buildings, the forest, the rare animals and plants, and the irrigated farmlands were removed correspondingly. Another notable alteration was that the old village was relocated to south, beside the river stream and new additional electricity lines. Meanwhile, a hotel was constructed on the former site of the village. The river and the lake started to provide opportunities for fishing to the local residents. The only feature that remained untouched was the mountains.
