The maps describe the layout of a town named Frenton in 1990 and 2012.
Overall, it is obvious that the town went from a green zone to an urbanized one with the construction of new facilities and demolishment of existing ones.
In 1990, there was a school, a bank, a hospital, trees, and playing fields with trees on the left side of High Street Road. On the right-hand side, there were houses, shops, a theater, a cafe, and a park.
By 2012, the town had undergone a complete makeover. While a library as well as a school had been left untouched, new buildings and constructions had been erected. Playing fields with trees had been replaced by blocks of flats. The bank had been replaced by the restaurant. The theatre had been replaced by the cinema, while the shops had been replaced by a supermarket. Trees on the south-eastern side of the map had been replaced by the technopark. The houses on the western side of the map had been replaced by blocks of flats. The cafe and the park had been replaced by the hotel and golf course. The hospital on the east side of the map had become larger in size with the construction of new buildings. On the north, flats had been constructed.
