In the north-west, there were houses. Additionally, there were shops and a theatre in the southern part of the town. There were trees in the south-west. In addition, the town had a bank in the north-west, positioned beside a library and hospital.
By 2012, Frenton had seen extensive development. The most noticeable changes include the replacement of houses with the café and park, and blocks of flats with hotel and golf course had been constructed in the south-east. Another noticeable change is that the theatre and shops had been converted into a new cinema and a new supermarket, respectively. Additionally, the bank and playing fields with trees had been turned into a new restaurant and new blocks of flats, respectively. In the south-west, trees had been cut down to make facility for the construction of a new techno park. After that the hospital had been extended. Lastly, new flats had been constructed in the north-east. Despite these changes, the school and library remained unchanged.
