The two maps illustrate information about the planning of buildings in Frenton Village in two years (1990 and 2012)
Overall, during the 22-year period Frenton experienced significant changes, which made it more residential character.
In 1990, Frenton’s layout featured a main street running from the southwest to the northeast, dividing the area into two parts. To the east of this road were a park and a café, both surrounded by residential houses. The shopping facilities were situated in the southwestern corner, adjacent to a theater. In the northernmost part of the area, there were playing fields bordered by trees, next to the school. At the center of the map stood a small hospital and a bank, located to the north of the library, which was positioned below the school against a backdrop of wooded land.
By 2012, significant changes had taken place on both the western and eastern sides of the high street, with the school and library being the only structures that remained unaltered over the years. The eastern houses were supplanted by modern blocks of flats, integrating with newly constructed apartment buildings. The café and park area had been replaced by a hotel and a golf course. Additionally, the theater and shops were revitalized into a cinema and a large supermarket, respectively. The playing fields and treas destroyed to make way for blocks of flat.Other changes included enlargement of the hospital and the cut down of trees for tecnopark .
