The two maps show the changes that have taken place in the town of Kimsville between 2002 and today. In general, it appears that the town has been transformed from an older industrial settlement into a more modern, residential, and service-oriented area.
In 2002, there were no residential buildings, but today the wooded area in the northwest of the town has been knocked down to make way for new apartments. Another striking change is that the old cinema was demolished and replaced with a pub. A completely new apartment block was also erected in the northern part of the town.
Looking at the east side of the map, in 2002 there was a factory and some greenery, with only two small clusters of trees located at the top and bottom of the map. A new software company has now been constructed on the site of the former factory. In the southwest, a new football stadium was built on land that had previously been a green space. By contrast, the shopping centre has remained unchanged throughout the period.
