The given maps depict the layout of a bookstore in 2000 and at the present day.
The initial impression is that the bookstore has undergone significant changes, the most notable of which was the removal of books regarding hobbies, cookery, and art, as well as the reduction of the fiction section.
Looking at the map in the year 2000, to the left of the main entrance and half of the wall opposite it was located a fiction section. The central area featured 3 rows of shelves of books, which were about hobbies, cookery, and art. To the right of the art section was situated a non-fiction region. Below these, from top to bottom, were travel, new books, and service desks. This was the concept of a traditional bookstore, which mainly served for reading.
In contrast, at present, although the lowest area including travel, new books, and service desks has remained unchanged, shelves of various genres of books have been removed to make way for a table, encircled by 4 chairs. Likewise, a new cafe has been erected where the non-fiction region used to be, which has been relocated to the site opposite the main entrance. Finally, part of the fiction section has been occupied by art and cookery.
