The maps illustrate the current industrial area of Norbiton and the planned future development of the site.
Overall, the area is expected to undergo a major transformation from an industrial estate into a residential neighbourhood. Most factories will be replaced by housing, while several public facilities and new transport links will be added.
At present, the site consists mainly of factories located around a central roundabout and along a road extending to the east. To the north of the area lies a river with farmland beyond it. A main road runs along the southern boundary and connects the industrial zone to the nearby town.
In the future, all factories are planned to be demolished and replaced with housing. Additional residential buildings will also be constructed on part of the farmland north of the river. To provide access to this new housing area, a road will extend northward from the central roundabout and cross the river via a bridge. Furthermore, a second roundabout will be built to the south, connecting the development to the main road. Several new facilities, including shops, a medical centre, a school and a playground, will also be added to serve local residents.
