The two maps illustrate how the city of Nelson underwent significant renovation over more than two decades.
Overall, there were only a few facilities at Nelson, such as an academic block, train station, city center and a port. However, the place today facilitates its visitors with numerous other facilities, with leisure and dining at the top of the list.
In the year 2000, the city center was located in the middle of the layout with the old market situated adjacent to its west. There was a road to the south of these two facilities. In addition, the train station was to the west and a university to the north of the map. There were woods to the north-east of the map, providing an exquisite view for the visitors. A large port lay to the south of the layout.
Now, the place has undergone tremendous changes. The hall of residence has been built to the north-west of the map. Bars and clubs have been constructed to the south-east and a restaurant has been designed to the south-west corner. A new train station has been built in between the academic block and city center. The city center offers more facilities to the customers with a new covered market to its east.
