The maps illustrate the changes that took place in Hillingford between 2000 and 2016.

Overall, the town underwent a total transformation, some areas were changed and others were newly built. However, there are places that did not change at all.

Over the period, woods and fields west of Hillingford were destroyed for building housing, tennis courts and restaurants, also the country house was turned into a hotel. While shops and a cafe north of the beach remained the same.

Housing in the south-east of the area was converted into a bed and breakfast with the market to the north being replaced with a supermarket. The eastern part of the town did not see a lot of change, school and housing nearby stayed the same. However, empty space in the north had given way to a train station. Moreover, the beach and harbour to the south of the bed and breakfast remained the same since 2000.
