The two maps illustrate the transformation of Colwick Arts Centre between 2005 and the present day. Overall, both the centre’s interior and exterior spaces have been renovated with an addition of new facilities.
One change of both the centre’s interior that stands out is that its function rooms have been relocated, and new rooms have been erected. The previous concert hall and cinema was redeveloped to become a small cinema in order to provide space for a drama studio and a central exhibition area. The two galleries in 2005 were merged into one, expanded and converted into a large concert hall. The new gallery, which is now situated opposite the previous ones, has replaced the pre-existing meeting room and part of the snack bar. The remaining portion of the snack bar was demolished to construct two smaller meeting rooms. The previous toilet was extended and converted to a new cafe. The new toilet is situated opposite the old one. The information desk is the only facility that remains its location.
Another noticeable change in the exterior of the centre is that the wasteland behind the Arts Centre has been renovated and transformed into an outdoor exhibition and performance area, complete with a stage and surrounded by many trees.
So, it is clear that Colwick Arts Centre has changed significantly since 2005.
