The maps illustrates the site of a City Park in 2000 and the proposed changes to the Park in the present day.
Overall, the area has undergone considerable redevelopment, with several new commercial facilities and buildings being introduced. The surrounding areas, meanwhile, have became more wooded, with a significant number of trees being added.
It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the period there was no cycling path, while there was only one entrance in the south of the area. Over the following years, cycling path has added to the City Park, enclosing part of the area, and the number of entrances has doubled. In the south-west, a cafe is planned to be added to the area.
The changes to the road layout are the most noticeable, it is planned to be connected to the new entrance and cafe. The tennis court, in its turn, has been demolished and is projected to be replaced by a picnic area over the time in the north-western part of the park. Similarly, the car park area is forecast to undergo expansion, with being transformed to the open-air concert theatre in the south-west. The football area and the children’s playground are expected to remain unchanged throughout the period.
