The given maps illustrate the changes of the Frenton city from 1990 to 2012.
Overall, it can be observed that the city has undergone significant loss of green spaces, making it more apartment-dense city, dominated by blocks of flats. Additionally, most of the buildings are converted into tourist destinations or expanded in size, while some other facilities remained unchanged. A main road, named High-Street, runs diagonally through the center from the south-west to the north-east.
The most noticeable change is the conversion of the playing fields in the northern side of the street and hotel in the eastern side of the map into blocks of residential apartments and construction of another one in between two of them. Moreover, while the hospital on the western side of the street was significantly enlarged, the neighboring bank was replaced by a restaurant. Additionally, the greenfield area in the south-west was cleared to make way for a technopark. Which makes the library the only unchanged facility in the western side of the street.
Regarding the other side of the high-street, the eastern side of the road, all the buildings appear to be either upgraded or replaced by tourist attractions. To begin with, the area for café and park is now allocated to hotel and golf course and the theatre was also replaced by cinema. Finally, the commercial zone in the south was modernized, with a massive supermarket taking the place of the old shops.
