The image illustrates two maps comparing an area's features in 1980 and 2000; in 1980, the map displays a forest on the left, rare plants and animals with adjacent ancient structures and streams near the river, irrigated farmland in the central region, a river running vertically through the area, a village positioned to the right of the river, and mountains in the north and south; by 2000, the maps indicate a transformation with the northern river converted into a lake featuring a fishing area, a hydroelectric dam south of the lake, electricity lines connecting to surrounding areas, a hotel situated east of the lake, and the original farmland replaced by a desert area directly east of the lake and dam, while the village remains, mountains are unchanged, and ancient structures appear unaffected.

The illustration shows differences in an area after a hydroelectric energy station was built. Overall, the map shows developments in an area from the year 1980 to 2000, that have made the area more modernized
On the left hand side, the entirety of the forest and the present outdated structres have been demolished. This has caused the inhabitants of this are to disappear as well. Right in the center, where there was a narrow river, now lies a major lake and the hydroelectric dam. Located on the south end are also electricity poles connected to the dam.
Another alteration to the original map design, is the village location. Originally, on the east side, it is now present towards south. It’s earlier position now assumed by the construction of a hotel. The rest of the map remains unchanged, considering it is in the vicinity of a mountanious region, which can only be worked around.
