The two provided maps illustrate the transformation which happened in the town named Charlwood over a period of nearly a century from 1910 to 2010.

What is most striking when looking at the map is that the town underwent a significant modernization and urbanization, most noticeably the addition of residential amenities and the complete obliteration of green space.

Getting into details, the forest was predominantly concentrated in the northern region. Over the next ten decades, this forest was almost cut down to make room for recreational facilities for the residents. Additionally, the parking road was built in a place that used to be a land where it was to be abandoned and the parking lot was connected to the main road, making it more convenient and accessible. It is noticeable that the factory saw the complete removal to give way to the shop which was reduced in size. Moreover, the addition of more accommodations after 100 years to serve the increasing number of the citizens.

Regarding the eastern side of the town, the train station was tripled for the former one, suggesting more residents to live here.
