In addition, each of the flow’s length was at least 8 kilometres before harming the residential areas and the port.
In terms of the situation after the eruption, the castle and a number of houses were destroyed by the lava flows. The port was also completely affected, meaning that ships could no longer enter the area. Meanwhile, the town remained in the southwestern part of the area, although its residential area became smaller.
