The two maps illustrate the development of Town Centre, highlighting the key changes that occurred between 1990 and today.
Overall, it is clear that the area underwent significant redevelopment, with several facilities being introduced and existing features being repurposed.
Looking at the details, in the southern and southeastern side of the area, the houses were converted into apartment blocks. Two new walkways, which provide access to the town hall, were introduced; one for Green Street and the other for Oldfield Street. In the centre of the area, the library, the town hall and the park remained unchanged.
Additionally, the bank, which was located on the eastern side of the town, was converted into a cafe. Meanwhile, in the top-right corner of the area, the bank kept its original location. Smith Street was closed to vehicular traffic and converted into pedestrian-only area. In the northern part of the town, the five facilities were combined to form a shopping mall, namely the grocery, the bakery, the butchery, the cafe and the news agency. However, the childcare centre near the cafe remained unchanged.
