The maps give a breakdown of the changes that took place in the same city in the 20 years from 1985 to 2005.
Overall, the city underwent major developments and became more urban by 2005. Most of the city’s green areas were flattened in favor of more accommodations and new facilities, such as an airport, a hotel, and factories.
In 1985, the Northeast part of the city had four houses and some trees, but by 2005, all the trees were cut down and that
entire part of the city turned into a full-fledged residential area with two rows of houses. Opposite the residential area, to the west, there used to be a park, but it was later replaced with two factories. In the Northwest of the city, there was also a bus stop and a parking lot, but while the parking lot remained unchanged, the bus stop was moved south, and an airport was built in its place.
In the Southwest of the city, where the bus station was relocated, trees were chopped down, and a house was demolished to make space for the expansion of the hospital and school. Finally, in the Southeast corner of the city, the camping site was replaced with a gigantic hotel, but the lake and all of the area’s vegetation were kept intact.
