Band 6: The maps below show the site of a school in 2004 and now (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in a school campus over the twenty years.

Overall, the campus has been significantly repurposed with adding an another school building and a car park.

Twenty years ago the school building 1 was located just above the path witch joins the main entrance to the sports field. The school building 2 was located western side of the sports field just under the path. The only car park located right next to the main entrance on the top left.

Today, the layout has undergo substantial transformation. Student numbers rose 60 percent, from 600 in 2004 to 1000 in 2024. In order to accommodate this increase the path that previously joined the main entrance to the sports field was shortened. The school building 3 and the car park 2 is located at he area that assigned previously for sports field. Sports field is relocated under the car park 2. The school building 1 and 2 is joined and school building 3 is joined to them with the path. A new road is constructed to join main entrance and car park 2.
