The maps illustrate the transformation of Langley town in two different years, 1910 and 1950. Overall, the town has become a totally environmental-friendly place.
The most significant replacement is the industry in Langley. In 1910, It was an industrial town, which involved an enormous factory and wasteland on the upside of the map. Additionally, on the Sherman Street, there were a mixed residents included the row of independent houses and a store, a laundry shop, and a Café. After 4 decades, they are be replaced by new Sherman Mansions.
Below the Sherman Street, there was a railway line with the railway workers’ accommodations which changed into a big park with Children’s playground in 1950. On the right side of the park, there is a new built Lane called New Lane and three new stores.
Turn to the left side of picture was a number of townhouses on Jordan Street in 1910. Later, this resident area has been adjusted into three new apartment buildings.
