The maps compares an Australian Zoo, where underwent changes, in the past (1960) and the present.
Overall, the zoo developed and experienced many dramatic changes with many areas got demolished and built. The place now have two new entrances, one is placed next to the new ferry and a whole new cable car area appeared for sightseeing.
Talking about the west part of the zoo, in the past, there was no entry gate next to the old gift shop. Additionally, there was an African animals and Australian animals section. In the present, the entrance is built on the trail, connecting it with the ferry. Furthermore, the African animals area was relocated to the middle of the zoo as the wild animals section replaced the old one. The Australian animals remained unchanged over the years and they also renovated the gift shop, giving it a new look representing an actual gift. The harbor is moved to this side of the zoo, leaving space for the new ferry in the north of the map.
In the East, where most of the significant change took place, picnic area didn’t get any renovation and a new entry was placed. In the past, the seal show and chimpanzees section took up most of the center area. Now, both of the previous sections are removed as the chimpanzees section is demolished and the seal show is relocated next to the new African animals area. Then, a whole wide area is spent building up a cable car with one end got connected to the trail.
