The maps illustrate how the towwn of Harbourville changed between 1950 and 2020.
In general, the area experienced considerable redevelopment, with several new factors being build while older features were removed.
To begin with, a forest could be found in the west side of the are in 1950. Then, it converted into a park. Another significant change was houses being introduced to the south of the park in 2020. Likewise, initially there was Murphy’s landing marina in the north-east side of the area that was demolished in order to build harbour history museum.
Regarding relatively smaller changes, there were around three houses in the north side of the area at the beginning of the period. In 2020, the number of houses increased to seven. A fruit orchard and fish market occupied the south of the area at the beginning of the period. While the fruit orchard remained unchanged, fish market expanded at the end of the period. There were a harbour view and harbour in rhe middle of the area, which did not changed throughout the period, and there was west shore marina to the north-east side of the harbour, which remained unchanged.
