The figure presented indicates the changes from 1990 to 2010 in George Town. Overall, George Town was separated by the road in the middle part of the city into two sites. There were many developments in the upper site of the town, where many buildings in 1990 were torn down and replaced by new establishments in 2010. Below the road was the lower site of George Town, where none of facilities were built in 1990 but in 2010, two accommodations were located there.
In 1990, all of the facilities in George Town were built in the upper site of the city. While the city center and the local market were located near the road, along with the bus station above the local market, the city town hall and the park were placed in the northern part of the city. In contrast, the lower site of Goerge Town was empty, with the port located at the south.
In 2010, the city has developed from 1990 in many ways. Though the city town hall and the city center were not changed at all, the local market and the park were replaced with the supermarket and the new shopping center respectively. Then there was an apartment built at the top left corner, and the housing areas was placed next to the city center on the right. Moreover, the bus station was moved to in between the city town hall and the city center, next to the railway, and the bike rental was then available in the city center. Meanwhile there are facilities emerged in the lower site, including restaurants, bars, and club. The road was also changed to be available for pedestrain only.
