The maps demonstrartes the significant changes between 1990 and 2010. The most notable difference between 1990 and 2010 are development of housing area, and restaurants and bars with clubs near the port. I describe these changes in essay.
Looking at the map in 1990, there was none of facilities like shopping centre and living place. There was a local market near the car roads but it experienced mordernization and replaced by a supermarket in 2010. Also the bus station behind the local market moved to behind of city centre. The park next to the city town hall transformed into the new shopping centre in 2010.
In 2010, a lot of building and shops are already built in George Town. Interestingly, in 1990, there was none of living area like apartments. However, in 2010, the apartment complex and housing area was built in nothern part of pedestrian roads. In this moment, the car roads under the city centre converted into pedestrian roads. Besides, there was absense of restaurant close to port but in 2010, the restaurants and bar and club constructed near the port. Another significant change is the raleway connecting city centre and the city town hole was constructed with bike rental zone in city centre.
To summarize, the george town experienced high urbanization for 2 decades, while the local market and park were disappeared.
