The images demonstrate how the seaside area of Templeton transformed between 1990 and 2005. In the first image, it is clear that earlier in this area there were many trees, but by 2005, buildings had taken their place. For example, in 1990, there were trees next to the railway station, but in the subsequent years, a factory was constructed on that site.
Additionally, a house that used to be opposite the ponds was demolished, and in its place, a new apartment building was erected. Where there used to be many houses, three apartment buildings were built, and a supermarket was also constructed nearby. Between the supermarket and the apartment building, houses were put up, and opposite the hospital, two new houses were built.
Moreover, the train tracks were expanded; they now run over the river, and a ferry terminal has been established nearby. Over time, substantial changes have occurred. While development can improve people’s lives, it often happens at the expense of the environment. In the past, the area was filled with trees, allowing people to breathe fresh air. However, as infrastructure has grown, more trees have been cut down, and cities have gradually lost their green spaces.
