The plans illustrate the South Wing of Walton Museum in 2008 and its redevelopment in 2012.
Overall, the south wing of Walton Museum underwent significant changes. Some places were expanded, while others completely changed their function and new facilities were added.
The special exhibition room remained in the same location, while a terrace was added beside the entrance hall. The shop was located roughly at the same place. The cloakroom, which was located in the bottom-right corner in 2008, was relocated into the reception area in 2012. One of the additional facilities was restaurant that was situated above the reception in 2012.
Furthermore, the stairs in 2008 plan were replaced by a lift in 2012.During the redevelopment , a children’s play area was added to the southern part of the wing. The reading room was retained but relocated to the a position between the self-service room and the children’s play area. Finally, a new exhibition room was added to the north-eastern corner of the wing.
