Overall, United States had the highest number of prisoners. On the other hand, Great Britain showed its wise verca, while the amount of imprisonment fluctuated over the period.
First of all, Great Britain showed the lowest proportion with approximately 30,000 prisoners. However, this figure rose gradually its peak point with just above 80,000 ones in 1980. If we look at United States, it arrested the most people in four out of six years and at the end of the period the figure for this country peaked nearly 140,000 prisoners.
When it comes to Canada, it made also the highest number of imprisonments in only two, 1930 and 1950 years, with 120, 000 and just above it respectively. The proportion of people in prison in New Zealand and Australia stood in the same level with about 70,000 in 1970. In addition, at the other time, they flactuated between 40,000 and 100,000 prisoners, although New Zaeland’s imprisoned people made more than Australia’s ones.
