The line graph gives information about the parliament’s woman members percentage in five European countries: Germany, Italy, France, UK, and Belguim over a 12-year period from 2000 to 2012.
Overall, the highest proportion of females was experienced by Italy. While the lowest share was seen both in UK and Belguim. Also, Germany and France woman members’ number increased slightly.
Looking at the details, the UK’s share starting from around 3% grew dramatically to nearly 24%, but even though showed one of the lowest shares. In Belguim, the share constituted for around 17% in 2000. After 4 years, it rose gradually to over 20% and in 2006 it reached almost 25%. However, in 2012 the share turned back as in 2004. The first pattern in France made up 25% and was growing modestly to 27%, 29%. Finally, it represented over 30% in 2012.
By contrast, Italy’s share which started with over 30% reached 40% in the end. What is the highest proportion at all. Coming to Germany, it can be seen that in 2000 the proportion was the biggest and it continued to rising slightly.
