We can see that in all countries there is a boost in the percentage of female members of parliament in European countries from 2000 to 2012. Although not all countries have increased by a meaningful margin.
The image presents a line graph displaying female parliament members’ percentage in European countries from 2000 to 2012, with specific data points: Germany: 2000 at 30%, 2004 at 33%, 2008 at 32%, 2012 at 36%; Italy: 2000 at 10%, 2004 at 12%, 2008 at 20%, 2012 at 33%; France: 2000 at 11%, 2004 at 12%, 2008 at 18%, 2012 at 27%; UK: 2000 at 18%, 2004 at 20%, 2008 at 23%, 2012 at 22%; Belgium: 2000 at 25%, 2004 at 35%, 2008 at 36%, 2012 at 38%.
This leads us to a conclusion that, over time, countries in Europe are allowing more and more women’s participation in parliament to make it more fair and democratic.
