The two maps illustrate the layout of a museum in 1998 and how it was renovated by 2008.
Overall, the museum underwent major changes over the decade, including the addition of a restaurant, fountains, and a cafe sitting area and the expansion of one permanent exhibition room. Several facilities were relocated, namely the shop, the bags and coats, and the WC while the other permanent exhibition room was removed. However, the ticket desk, the entrance and exit remained unchanged.
In 1998, after entering the museum through the entrance and exit, visitors encountered the ticket counter centrally located at the bottom, which still remained in the same position a decade later. To the left was a temporary exhibition room that had been moved to the west and enlarged, whereas the bags and coats, shop on the right side had been relocated to the temporary exhibition room’s original site by 2008. In addition, the café previously positioned at the top center behind the central garden had been slightly repositioned and reduced in size, but no change was seen in the location of the garden. However, two fountains and a new cafe sitting area were added within it. Additionally, a new restaurant replaced the original permanent exhibition room in the top-left corner, while the remaining permanent exhibition room on the right was expanded. Lastly, the WC that was in the bottom right corner in 2008 had been transferred and erected next to the cafe.
